OUR STORY
Green. Clean. Planet
WHEN PUT INTO ACTION, we lead the transition to a green, clean planet by:

Plastic Waste Interceptor
Designing and installing AI-powered river plastic waste interceptors that remove tons of ocean-bound plastic waste and clean massively polluted rivers and water bodies. These devices also generate data that is shared with governments to inform and review targeted waste management policies.

Circular Economy
Upskill, Empower, and support women and youth waste-pickers to generate sustainable livelihoods by managing modular, scalable, and affordable waste hubs that offer integrated waste services to millions of underserved riparian low-income communities. This includes the restoration of illegal dumpsites, the restoration of urban river riparian ecosystems, and the production of valuable products from different waste streams.

Biopactic Material
Through our patented Advanced Precision Bio-conversion technology, we extract invasive water hyacinth from freshwater ecosystems and transform it into innovative, 100% biodegradable, next-generation materials that replace petroleum-based plastics in essential applications, including customized food and product packaging, hygiene products, and fashion. We produce a higher-quality, more affordable replacement for fossil-based polyethylene and polypropylene in key sectors with a massive plastic waste footprint.
Our Story
The Ripple from Lake Victoria
A journey from polluted shores to transformative climate action
Clifford Okoth grew up along the shimmering yet troubled shores of Lake Victoria, where the morning sun danced on water choked by plastic waste and invasive water hyacinth. As a child, he watched fishermen struggle to untangle their nets from thick mats of weeds and saw mothers boil fish over smoky fires surrounded by heaps of discarded plastic bottles.
After graduating from the University of Nairobi, Clifford moved to Mathare, living close to the polluted Nairobi River. There, he came face to face with yet another crisis: urban rivers choking on plastic waste, illegal dumpsites burning toxic fumes, and children and expectant mothers coughing in the suffocating smoke.
These raw encounters fueled a deeper determination. Clifford realized that pollution was not just an environmental crisis, but a social injustice that disproportionately burdened vulnerable communities.
“Driven by hope and science, and inspired by community resilience, Clifford joined hands with youth, women, and local innovators to found Chemolex—a social impact organization committed to turning environmental challenges into engines of opportunity.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Answer:
We offer a variety of solutions, including:
- River Plastic Capture Devices: Interceptors that trap plastic waste in rivers.
- Biopactic Materials: Biodegradable material made from water hyacinth to replace single-use plastics.
- Recycled Products: Recycled construction products such as paver blocks, fencing poles, and lumber.
- Community Programs: Illegal dumpsite rehabilitation, youth & women empowerment, and waste-to-energy initiatives.
- Biofuel: Clean biofuel from water hyacinth for stoves, generators, and off-grid applications.
Answer:
We work with businesses, governments, NGOs, and communities. You can partner with us on waste interception infrastructure, adopt biopactic materials for packaging, or collaborate on recycling and community initiatives. Please contact us via email or phone to discuss potential partnerships.
Answer:

Answer:
- We combine river plastic interception with material innovation — preventing pollution instead of only recycling.
- Our biopactic technology is patented and uses invasive water hyacinth, creating dual ecological benefit.
- We focus on community empowerment, creating livelihoods and restoring community green spaces.
- We produce high-value products from waste — closing the loop through circular-economy engineering.
Answer:
We welcome donors, volunteers, NGOs, and mission-aligned partners. Please reach out to us through our website or email to explore support opportunities for our river cleanup, waste-to-energy, and green infrastructure initiatives.
Answer:
- We have installed multiple plastic capture devices on Kenyan rivers, helping to trap thousands of tonnes of plastic waste.
- We recycle this plastic into useful materials such as paver blocks, poles, and lumber.
- We produce about 1 ton of biopactic material monthly, helping replace harmful plastics.
- We engage and employ thousands of women and youth in waste management enterprises.
- We have completed high-visibility projects, including recycled plastic pavers installed at the Belgian Embassy in Nairobi.
Answer:
Biopactic is our patented biodegradable material made from water hyacinth, an invasive plant. Through a precision bio-conversion process, we turn hyacinth into a film used in packaging, diapers, sanitaryware, and more — replacing single-use plastics.
It is designed to be durable, eco-friendly, and fully biodegradable.
Answer:
Our river interceptors are engineered to trap floating plastic in waterways before it reaches lakes or the ocean. The collected plastic is transported to our recycling facility where it is processed into construction-grade materials or other useful forms.
Answer:
We use rigorous engineering, testing, and manufacturing processes to convert waste plastic into durable products such as fencing poles, lumber, and paving blocks. These meet relevant performance and safety standards and are suitable for long-term structural applications.
Answer:
We harvest water hyacinth from affected freshwater bodies such as Lake Victoria, where it is invasive. This allows us to remove ecological strain while transforming the plant into valuable green material.
